This month the White Coats Foundation are launching a two-part webinar series titled ‘De-Mystifying Consumer and Community Involvement in Research.‘
The White Coats Foundation looks at “de-mystifying” consumer and community involvement in research via a two-part webinar series that aims to:
- Provide clarification on what “consumer and community involvement” in research means.
- Provide insight into the training options available to support consumers with basic skills and knowledge to effectively engage in research.
- Explore the barriers to consumer engagement.
- Explore pathways that can facilitate the connection between researchers and consumers. These avenues are underdeveloped and need to be reviewed.
- Explore feedback mechanisms to consumers on outcomes of involvement and ensure participation is value-adding.
The two sessions will be held on Weds 15 and Weds 22 September.
The ARCS conference earlier this month was a resounding success. Leanne was part of a panel session discussing, ‘How eConsent is being used in Australia to support clinical trials’.

The ARCS conference was particularly special for Bellberry this year as our CEO Kylie Sproston was awarded the 2021 ARCS MTP Sector Awards Innovation award! Many congratulations to Kylie and the whole BellBerry team on this wonderful achievement.

Sometimes it is difficult to put feelings into words. They say a picture can tell a thousand words, so the White Coats Foundation is inviting you to express ‘Your Voice’ by creating a picture, painting, symbol or sending in a photo that represents what clinical trials mean to you.
Perhaps you are a patient that has benefited from participating in a clinical trial or a recipient of an approved medication that is available because of a clinical trial or a health care professional who supports patients on clinical trials or an industry professional who is witness to the impact that medical advances can bring to people’s lives. Whatever your circumstances, the White Coats Foundation want to hear your voice and see your story.
Submission open between 6 April and 3 May
The White Coats Foundation will select a shortlist of entries for further presentation at the White Coats Foundation “Your Voice, Your Story ” public webinar to be held on International Clinical Trials Day-20th of May.

AusBiotech invites you to its virtual showcase highlighting Australia’s clinical trial and medical innovation advantages, coinciding with the annual JP Morgan and Biotech Showcase week in January 2021. This virtual event will be hosted in Melbourne on Fri 15 Jan, 10-11.35am (AEDT).
Australia has been amongst the globe’s lesser COVID-19-impacted countries, providing the opportunity to start and continue clinical trials and medical research through the pandemic. Through careful management of the pandemic, clinical trials are not only giving Australian patients access to new therapies, vaccines and medical devices, but also giving the country a comparative advantage as a destination for clinical trials from around the globe.
Working in Australia offers a compelling opportunity for clinical trials, with robust regulation, access to established and proven pathways of obtaining high quality clinical data recognised by US and European regulators, and other global institutions.
Bellberry CEO Kylie Sproston will be speaking at this event. Click HERE TO REGISTER
